Featured ALL STAR – Jesse
Meet our featured ALL STAR of the month – The King of Carpets – Jesse Owens!
Before becoming an ALL STAR: Jesse has been a cleaning professional since he graduated from Poudre High School in 2002. He started out cleaning student apartments at CSU while studying Computer Science and Electrical Engineering there. He then moved on to a different department within the University where he learned the fundamentals of Indoor Air Quality, Floor Care and Carpet Cleaning. After College, he spent 6 months at McMurdo Research Station in Antarctica. There he was in charge of the cleaning and floor maintenance of Albert Crary Science and Engineering Center, which, when divided by square feet, is the most expensive building the US Government has ever built.
Career Ambitions: Jesse recently founded All Star Total Floor Care, a natural eco-friendly carpet and floor cleaning division of All Star Cleaning Services.
Why he wanted to be an ALL STAR: After returning from Antarctica in March 2007, Jesse was excited to find an opportunity to re-learn the art of professional cleaning without the use of toxic chemicals from the expert herself, Laura.
Favorite Part of the Job: “The best part about my job at All Star is the opportunity to learn about Environmentalism, Natural Cleaning, Business and Life in general from Laura and all of the rest of the All Stars.”
Something you may not know about Jesse: Jesse was named after his maternal grandfather’s boyhood hero, Jesse Owens, as well as his paternal grandfather J.C. Owens. In actuality, the famous athlete’s name was never Jesse, but James Cleveland Owens. His fifth grade teacher misunderstood him when he introduced himself as J.C., and the name Jesse stuck for the rest of his life!
