Team Lead Amanda - A.K.A. Wonder Woman!

Team Lead Amanda - A.K.A. Wonder Woman!

Before becoming an ALL STAR: Amanda worked at CSU in the Food Service Department for 7 years starting at the age of 14. She left CSU to be a stay-at-home mom to her 3 beautiful children – Malaki age 8, Octavia age 4, and Xavier age 3. She was a stay-at-home mom for 9 years before joining the ALL STAR team, during which she had a few part-time jobs, in-home care for the elderly being her favorite.

Career Ambitions: Amanda aspires to become a holistic massage therapist.

Why she wanted to be an ALL STAR:Well to become the All Star Wonder Woman, of course! Actually, that is just a bonus. I really do believe in Laura’s dreams and goals for the All Star company and its employees. To be able to contribute to not just something I believe in, but to something bigger than myself. Thanks for all the opportunity Laura.”

Something you may not know about Amanda: Her name was supposed to be Amandalynn Marie Flores. Amanda after her great-grandmother, and Lynn from her mom’s favorite instrument the mandolin. Marie from her mother’s middle name. PVH made a mistake on the certificate though and printed her name as Amanda Lynn. So, that was that!

The New Scent of Clean

As most people who are familiar with my company know, we have always made the majority of the products we use in our client’s homes ourselves. As of this week, that will no longer be the case.

I am excited to introduce Queen of the Meadow, our new product line. Queen of the Meadow is a small local company run by Daniela Butrick and her family, and they have mixed up a heavenly custom-blended signature scent just for All Star! Here is some information about Daniela’s company from her website (www.queenofthemeadow.com):

Featured ALL STAR of the Month – May 2009

Meet our featured ALL STAR of the month – The King of Carpets – Jesse Owens! fsck0004

Before becoming an ALL STAR: Jesse has been a cleaning professional since he graduated from Poudre High School in 2002. He started out cleaning student apartments at CSU while studying Computer Science and Electrical Engineering there. He then moved on to a different department within the University where he learned the fundamentals of Indoor Air Quality, Floor Care and Carpet Cleaning. After College, he spent 6 months at McMurdo Research Station in Antarctica. There he was in charge of the cleaning and floor maintenance of Albert Crary Science and Engineering Center, which, when divided by square feet, is the most expensive building the US Government has ever built.

Career Ambitions: Jesse recently founded All Star Total Floor Care, a natural eco-friendly carpet and floor cleaning division of All Star Cleaning Services.

Why he wanted to be an ALL STAR: After returning from Antarctica in March 2007, Jesse was excited to find an opportunity to re-learn the art of professional cleaning without the use of toxic chemicals from the expert herself, Laura.

Favorite Part of the Job: “The best part about my job at All Star is the opportunity to learn about Environmentalism, Natural Cleaning, Business and Life in general from Laura and all of the rest of the All Stars.”

Something you may not know about Jesse: Jesse was named after his maternal grandfather’s boyhood hero, Jesse Owens, as well as his paternal grandfather J.C. Owens. In actuality, the famous athlete’s name was never Jesse, but James Cleveland Owens. His fifth grade teacher misunderstood him when he introduced himself as J.C., and the name Jesse stuck for the rest of his life!

Cleaning for a Reason is a wonderful program that I am very proud to be a part of. All Star Cleaning Services was the first chapter of C4R in Colorado 2 1/2 years ago, and is still the only chapter serving the Northern Colorado area.

As of today:

Cleaning for a Reason has 415 maid service partners in 43 states plus Canada

1,918 women have been served

Over $275,000 in services have been donated by C4R partner maid services

Since partnering with cleaning for a reason in late 2006, All Star Cleaning Services has helped 25 women, including 6 active patients as of today.

Hear what one of our patients had to say about the program:

If you know someone who could use some help, locally or in another area, Cleaning for a Reason can be contacted through their website at:

The All Star Recycling Program

I am excited to announce All Star Cleaning Services’ new Recycling Program! Well, it is not really new, but it recently occurred to me we have never put anything up on the website about it before!

recycleYou can now leave any recyclable material that does not qualify for curbside pickup out for your crew, and we will recycle it for you. This completely free service is available to all current All Star clients – just one more way we are making your life a little easier, and a little greener

  • Batteries
  • Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs
  • Plastics types 3-7 (some waste services will pick these up now – check with your provider)
  • Plastic Grocery Bags
  • Electronics Recycling and Cell Phones
  • Chemicals Too! Haven’t gone green yet? Ready to make the switch but don’t know what to do with all the harmful chemicals still lurking around your home? Leave them for us, and we will properly dispose of them for you.

Introducing FREE Natural Cleaning Workshops

I will be offering completely free workshops on natural cleaning to any group of 5 or more who would like to book one. This is a public education outreach effort on behalf of my company, but will not be about my company or a sales presentation for it. In this workshop you will learn:

  1. Why you should make the switch to natural – health benefits, allergies, chemical sensitivity issues, environmental impact, etc.
  2. How to go about making the switch – what to do with all those old products lurking beneath the sink.
  3. What products to use – store bought or homemade? Brand reviews and recommendations, recipes and more!
  4. Tips, tricks, and solutions from an industry expert.

All participants will receive a booklet on Natural Cleaning, a sample bottle of all-purpose cleaner, and a special microfiber cleaning cloth. Workshops last between 30 minutes and an hour, depending on the amount of time your group wishes to allocate and audience participation.

Give me a call to book your group’s workshop today at 970.215.2224 or email laura@cleaningallstars.com for more information.
